it's genuinely hard for me to. think of anything you could do to make me happy. that you aren't already doing.. that isn't just me being greedy.

i might be able to think of something. maybe there are more ways that you can show off that i'm yours. i'd like that a lot. i want it to be obvious to everyone.

other than that.. time spent is all i can think of. if i could sometimes have you with me for a little longer.. i'm sure we can figure out something sometimes. but only if it doesn't keep you away from your boyfriends.

i guess there's one thing but.. i think it's out of reach for me. and i've accepted it.

Eyes glance down at the big canine at her feet, who looks up to her with a small huff and she looks to the other. Arms across her chest and she considers this offer. And she sighs, honestly she could do with the caps and it wasn't like she had anything else going for her right now.

Inner edges of brows cant upwards, briefly, a momentary flicker of surprise -- clearly she hadn't expected as simple, and as agreeable a response. Temporary relief follows, a smile offered as she gestures to the table across from the woman. "Mind if I sit? I can order us a round of somethin' while we talk, if you like." A glance and a softer smile is offered to the dog sat beside, though that did raise another question. "I guess this is the part where I should mention, my companion, he also happens to be of the furred persuasion, is that going to be .. a problem?" She trusted Miska to listen to her, and leave the dog be, but she didn't know enough about the merc or her four legged beastie to know if that was mutual.

That same said lead pipe dropped with a dull thunk onto the floor next to what was left of the guy's head; calling the sight reminiscent of a poorly attempt at one of those junior high 'drop the egg off the roof' experiments was being ... generous. Joel twisted his fingers against the dark cloth of his jeans in an attempt to get the worst of the blood and bits off of his hands as he closed the distance to where Ellie was collapsed on the floor.

"Guess it's a good thing you're so thick headed, huh, kiddo?" It was an attempt at humor that he didn't feel, guilt and anxiety twisting in his chest as he tried to get a better look at the source of the blood winding down her face. "He get you anywhere else?" Sliding his pack off his shoulders, he pulled one of the clean rags from the side pouch, dabbing carefully at the blood on her face before easing it up to press against her temple.

This was not how this was supposed to go. Sure. Life above ground had proved challenging. Dangerous. Chaotic. Disorganized. All of the things that life hadn't been before she'd stepped one booted foot after the other into the neverending sand outside the Vault door.

It had been slightly terrifying. And dizzying. And confusing. Frustrating, even.

But she thought she'd finally almost gotten the hang of it.

She'd been wrong.

The creatures that had swarmed up out of the sand pits had come out of nowhere, and she didn't even know what they were called to curse them -- after she'd killed them. They hadn't gone without a fight though, and she had been more than a little dismayed to find herself staring at a gaping hole in her vault suit; and the skin and flesh beneath it. The gashes were uneven and the ends of the wound jagged, seeping, and she couldn't keep her eyes in focus, or her hands from shaking as she struggled to pinch rent skin together enough to try and staple it closed. Awareness and clear thinking had left the room.

A flicker of shadow, a gasp, a bloodied hand flying towards the pistol in the sand beside her, brought up, shakily, in the direction of the shape. Not a monster. A man. A person. A human. "D-don't." Teeth clacked together - adrenaline or fear or shock, she wasn't sure. "I -- I am armed, and I w-will defend myself."
