Nethesem Drones - The Willing Sense of Disbelief

Here's a thing that we're on familiar with in one way or another - The Willing Sense of Disbelief.

This is the ability to ignore knowledge we have for the sake of entertainment or indulgence - like applauding a magic trick as witchcraft, whilst knowing that it was slight of hand.

We can use this when watching an imperfect show or film and still enjoy it regardless of it's flaws. We can just roll with it.

So by all means, point out plot holes and inconsistencies, and consider how they could be resolved or improved upon, but remember that we can always ignore them and continue to enjoy MLP anyway, because we can willingly suspend our disbelief.

Go Forth And Be Awesome

A video of me saying stuff I've said before, but now in the manner of affirmative action!

TL;DW:

There's people out there doing awesome stuff to clean up the dirty side of the fandom that others have caused and neglected.

But I think it's important that we act in manners of more than just maintenance – the fandom is powered by creative output, and I encourage everyone to go out there are be creative.

It's a well known lament for people to say "I can't do anything, I'm not creative, I don't know how."

And to them I say – Have a go. Pick up an instrument, pick up a pencil, pick up some blutack, and make something.

It'll probably be awful. But everyone's first creation is. What matters is that you enjoy making it and having a go – then you can enjoy practising and repeating, and then you'll find you're making awesome stuff.

And then share it. And when you see awesome stuff that others have done, share that.
