My bestie of life made this crocheted blanket, and gave it to me. It is one of my most treasured items. It is called The Net Of Tears. It is almost 16 feet long and about 5 feet wide. I have watched people treat my friend so, unbelievably badly over the years. I'd like to remind everyone that one day you will be alone and desperately wishing that someone would call you on the phone just to see how you are doing, and make sure something horrible hasn't happened to you, or that you aren't being abused by privileged jerks who treat you as subhuman. While you are watching the rest of the world connect without you on Facebook I hope you make your own goddamn net of tears and that you remember everytime that your insensitivity has made someone else feel like they were not worth being alive. I sometimes fantasize about something like a Christian church that I could be a part of because growing up it always seemed like along with all the shit of that institution there also was a lot of genuine care and concern, people being more selfless and willing to do things that were inconvenient. Where is that? #netoftears #community #queer @havecompany this was the piece I was telling you about.
