Visionary Leadership
It is clear that NETS-A standard 1: Visionary Leadership is as important now as it has ever been in education. Visionary leaders are primed to leap out, dramatically, in front of leaders that lack vision. There is just too much opportunity and need for sweeping changes and technology integration that a lack of clear vision will leave many leaders choking on the fumes of the more prepared. Below are a few links that discuss visionary leadership. Two are articles/blog posts and two are research studies including a massive survey project called, "Speak Up" that compares visionary leaders to short-sided leaders to students in many questions that illustrate the path going forward in regards to improvement through technology. All four are interesting reads, but if you are going to click one link, I would suggest the last.
