I’m convinced 2014 Chrikra was an audience insert the way he was moving like a schoolgirl with a crush 😭 he was so smitten and I don’t think he’s forgotten for a minute all those butterflies Manu made him feel ❤️

Are Neumer still a thing?

Gosh, I wish I knew, anon. It doesn't really seem to be at the moment - but like it's the case with the majority of football friendships I enjoy, they're *probably* still on good terms, but it takes them 84 years to reunite/interact again, so nobody really *knows*.

Oh, sweet, sweet Neumer 🥲 they really had something special, didn’t they?

I love that Chris was so taken with Manu that he could do little more than cling to him the entire tournament. There was this undertone of adoration—of reverence—to his every touch and lingering gaze. And in truth, I suppose Chrikra’s no better than the rest of us; the poor thing was rendered completely helpless by Manu’s charms and boyish good looks. He could only resist for so long.

And for Manu’s side, he clearly gave as much as he got; in fact, he was just as much of a hopeless case—forever looking at his beloved Chrikra like he hung the moon and stars himself.

Hell, he was rarely more than arm’s length from him, always ready to swoop in for a cuddle when the opportunity arose.

All this to say, there’s a reason these two were the breakout ship of 2014. What’s not to love?

"Chris was so OBVIOUSLY in love back then." That makes it sound like Neuer wasn't. Have you SEEN the gifs?! The way he clung to Kramer during those celebrations in Berlin? The way he grabbed him by the neck and pulled him to himself when they were carrying the flag? Before that neck kiss from Kramer, Neuer either kissed him or whispered something in his ear. Then Kramer walked off. Next time you see them there, there's Neuer *again* with his arm around Kramer.

I wonder what happened there. I read on here that somebody on insta tagged Neuer on some Neumer content and they were practically never seen together on camera again.

Oh, no, no, no, I didn't want to imply that, I just thought that Chris made it preeeeetty hard to overlook, just by the way he was looking at Manu like he was the most ethereal being he had ever seen. :D But yeah, Manu was just as attached, there are no second thoughts about that.

I think I've said that before, but 90% favourite friendships in football always end up apart and barely interacting, it really seems cursed. Not sure if fandom shenanigans play a role in this - but it wouldn't be the first time and it really sucks that people can't distinguish between fandom and reality sometimes... I can only hope that this is not the reason and that things just naturally grew apart a little. Won't ever keep Chris from swooning over Manu once the occasion arises though, I mean, just look at him almost instantly liking all the social media stuff about Manu...
