ooh, wild new neurotrash symptom! we believe it's called middle ear myoclonus and it's involuntary muscle contractions inside the ear, and the effect from our perspective is someone quietly but persistently drumming inside our right ear, at a speed of 6.25 beats per second, with the occasional missed beat just to liven up the performance and make it harder to ignore

it's not a eustachian thing, we can literally physically feel the tiny thumps so we know it's muscular twitching

this started this afternoon, so we guess tonight is when we find out whether we can sleep though it?

ND brains are so weird - like over an hour ago I casually listened to 15s of a video of someone playing a bagpipe tune I'd never heard before, and it's been looping in my head ever since and it was nice to begin with but now I'm starting to feel like Deanna Troi with that musical box and it's too fucking jaunty
