Sunderance - Character Profile: Akemi Kyubi
A political upstart who rose to prominence during the contentious Embers Election, where her significant contributions delivered Leodore Lionheart the prized mayorship of Zootopia. This victory secured Akemi Kyubi and her vulpine associates, [REDACTED] and [REDACTED], participation into the central government, where she began to [REDACTED] and the founding of the Dominion party. A heated political war thundered through the state's central branches, where the ever-growing influence of the fox club ferociously resisted the Commonwealth's representatives, who [REDACTED] within six months, the Commonwealth’s leadership all but exhausted the public's goodwill, opening doors for powerful vulpine figures to seize the highest positions of government. [REDACTED] led to the disastrous loss of the Freedom of Entry for every leporid citizen, which consequentially expelled an entire species from the capital city. An infamous event which came to be known as the Rabbit-Ban Act. In a desperate dash to restrain the outgrown authorities foxes now possessed, the Mammalian Assembly proposed the creation of a new office held by an "Administrator", intended to rein in the badly imbalanced Council to a more fairer plane. This was dramatically subverted when the Assembly [REDACTED] inexplicably transitioned the duty of appointment over to the Council, which they then unanimously purposed it to prop up yet another fox. Within the span of a few short years, Kyubi is believed to now hold near-dictatorial powers over Zootopia and its territories. By TheWyvernsWeaver Support us on Patreon!
It has been way too long since I posted stories on here, and I mean to get back into it. Cheers!
"C'mon, Eri! Surely Lady Death has a joke or two," Neveen teased, nudging Erissa in the side. "You have to have heard some over the ages."
Erissa looked thoughtful for a moment, then grinned. "Here's one a soul told me ages ago. Long ago, there was a great tribe of nomads who's tradition was to have the chieftain name each new child. One day, one of his warriors came to him, and said, 'Oh wise chieftain, I would know something of you. How is it that you can come up with nes for the children so quickly?'."
"The chieftain smiled and said 'It is simple. I go for a walk, and wait for the spirits to speak to me. I feel the need to look up, and see an eagle flying overhead, and know that child's name will be 'Eagle-Soaring-In-The-Heavens'. I turn to see a stag bounding through the forest and know that child will be named 'Deer-Running-Swiftly'. I see a bear catch a trout leaping from a stream and understand that child shall be named 'Clever-Bear-Waits-For-Fish'. Tell me, Coyote-In-Heat-Under-A-Bush, why do you ask?'."
Jasper snorted and began coughing and gagging as his drink came out his nose, causing everyone else to devolve in hysterics.
Neveen
Though my youngest character, she is the fastest to grow and by the end of most arcs she has the strongest mind and soul of any of my characters. Nearly fearless, always kind, definitely bizarre. She starts out very timid, often too self conscious to speak, and grows into a woman who could conquer a city singlehanded if she weren't also a pacifist. I am incredibly proud of her. Also she's ace and trans <3
I also feel i should say that, while my perspective in writing is very sheltered-white-middle-class-suburbanite, Neveen has been a queer woman of color since the very beginning. I don't think I can do a good job portraying the experiences of an egyptian-american as they would be experienced in reality, but I will try. If anyone has advice on this front I will always, always welcome it gladly.
Neveen is one of my most recent, but also most well- rounded OC's. I have already used her in a few non-cannon short stories and stuff like that, and though she jumps from one universe to another to fit my needs there's a good deal of consistancy in her story. I won't go into too much detail yet, but I've made good use of a certain picrew.
Above, left, is Neveen age ~13. She has short hair, and its tight curls make a fluffy halo around her head. Her eyes are brown. She is not happy. She is enduring a toxic situation. She wears baggy clothing in dark or neutral colors, and does not have a reasonable understanding of how to express her desires and boundaries.
On the right, Neveen has reached somewhere around 20, though in some settings she will reach this point much earlier. She has figured out how to enjoy little things. She has friends, but doesn't quite know what to do with them. Her hair is longer, and she often pulls part of it forward to veil her face. She wears baggy clothing still, but explores somewhat brighter colors and likes wearing layers. She gets her ears peirced during this stage, and starts defining her boundaries - though she still struggles to express them. She will spend many years playing with different styles and presentations, exploring her self, her gender, and her faith. Some things she figures out well before others.
And this is my most recent, and oldest, version of Neveen. She is about 28 years old, or more. She is confident in who she is. She has found her calling. Her hair is much longer, braided and held back by white ribbons. She wears earth tones, warm colors, and deep greens. She has a new family, a chosen family who love and support her. She likes swimming in rivers at night, and is fiercely protective of her loved ones. She takes care to speak kindly to those who would do kindness in turn, but should anyone show unbased hatred she will definitely throw hands. She finds grave yards peaceful places. Death is not the end of a story, in her mind, it is a step in a ceaseless cycle in which we all participate. She gets tattoos when they call to her, most recent of which is the form of an egyptian white vulture in flight, its wings stretching across her back, just under her shoulder blades. She is happy.
