[NJPW NEWS] New Japan announced three title matches that will be taking place during the “KIZUNA ROAD 2017” tour that will be taking place from June 18 through June 27. 

The tour will feature three shows at the Korakuen Hall and each will feature a main event title defense. The first of which on June 20 will see the NEVER Openweight 6 Tag belts being defended, as SANADA, EVIL and BUSHI take on  Ryusuke Taguchi, Juice Robinson and KUSHIDA. Then on June 26, Minoru Suzuki will be defending the NEVER Openweight belt against YOSHI-HASHI. Then lastly on June 27, KUSHIDA will be defending his newly recapture World Junior Heavyweight belt against BUSHI.

Also the competitors for this years “G1 CLIMAX 27″ are to be announced on June 20, with the divided blocks announced on June 26 and the the official matches at the June 27 show.

[NJPW NEWS] More matches were announced for the upcoming "DOMINION 6.11 in OSAKA-JO HALL". 

The NEVER Openweight rematch was announced as Minoru Suzuki and Hirooki Goto will be facing off against each other in a Lumberjack Death Match. The match will see both CHAOS and Suzuki-gun team members at ringside as both sides will be enforcers if one of the two competing end up outside of the ring. This match aims to settle their current feud as either Goto can recapture the belt, that he felt he was cheated out of, or Suzuki will be one step closer to aiming to take out CHAOS and secure his group in its place. 

Then the IWGP Tag belts will be in defense as “WAR MACHINE” defends against the “Guerrillas of Destiny”. G.O.D. as a former champion team aim to reclaim the belts after assaulting the current champions following their defense against Tenzan and Kojima on May 3. Originally the match was a 3WAY, but the former champion team made it known that they wanted a single team versus team match. Which G.O.D. currently hold a win over the reigning champions stemming from the “WORLD TAG LEAGUE 2016″.

Then “Roppongi Vice” Rocky Romero and Trent Barreta will be putting the IWGP Jr. Tag belts on the line against the “Young Bucks”. The current champions have aimed as of late at reclaiming the belts and now want to prove themselves as one of the best tag teams in the world. They aim to do this by taking out the former Jr. Tag Champion team and solidifying their reign.

Then lastly a special singles match was announced as Michael Elgin will be taking on “The American Nightmare” Cody. Cody has been competing against up-and-coming talent ever since he made his debut in New Japan back in January, but after his last match on May 3 against David Finlay he declared that he wants stronger opponents/better competition. New Japan has accepted that offer and is pitting him against their “strongest foreigner” Michael Elgin.

[NJPW NEWS] Following the conclusion of “Sakura Genesis”, New Japan will now be heading into their next set of big shows which takes place throughout this month and the start of May. Which is better known as the “Golden Week” in Japan.

The main event for “Wrestling Dontaku 2017” will feature Kazuchika Okada defending the IWGP Heavyweight belt against Bad Luck Fale on May 3 in Fukuoka. Following his defense against Shibata on April 9, Okada was met with a forceful challenge by the big man Fale. With Fale’s performance in this years New Japan Cup there is no denying he is worthy of a title challenge. A special singles match will be held between Tomohiro Ishii and Kenny Omega in the semi-final of the show in what looks to lead to who could be the next challenger for the winner of the main event. The IWGP Tag and NEVER 6 Man Tag belts will also be in contention on the show.

Then on April 29 in Oita, “Wrestling Toyo no Kuni” will be held and will see Tetsuya Naito defending the IWGP IC belt against Juice Robinson. Robinson has been climbing the ranks as a contender for the singles belts after showing several strong performances in the ring, specifically since this years Wrestling Kingdom. He comes into this match with a direct win over the champion following a win over Naito in a tag match on April 9. Hiroshi Tanahashi and EVIL will be facing off in the semi-final match of the night as the next contender for the IC belt could come from it. Then the IWGP Junior belt will be in defense as Hiromu Takahashi takes on “King” Ricochet.

A lead-in tour will be taking place heading into the shows which will be held from April 22 through April 30, a special show “NEW JAPAN ROAD” will also be held on May 5. Though the show on April 27 will be a main focal point as two title matches will be taking. The main event being Hirooki Goto defending the NEVER Openweight belt against Minoru Suzuki then Kanemaru and Taichi defending the IWGP Jr. Tag belts against Romero and Barreta.
