So I had a fraudulent charge to my bank account that wiped the whole balance. Called to report it immediately, was told it would take two calendar days after it posted (it was pending at the time) to get my money back.
So I sit on it, all weekend, my checking account balance $0, I reported the fraud Thursday, the charge went through Friday, so I should get my money back Monday, right?
Get up this morning, check--still $0. I call in and am told they have 48 BUSINESS days after the charge posts to give me my money back. So apparently, they have until tomorrow before they’ll talk to me anymore about it. Like, literally, customer service wouldn’t even transfer me to the fraud department because of this “policy.”
Oh yeah, and since I use USAA, I also have (well, had) my auto insurance through them. My car got totaled in December, I finally got the title mailed in a few weeks ago (that was my bad), and I STILL haven’t recieved the payment for my car.
So I figured I’d call to check in on that this morning too. I am currently on a hold that’s estimated to take 14 minutes. I am starting to think they’re dragging this out on purpose so I’ll have to keep paying them monthly auto??
I don’t even know anymore. Just don’t touch USAA with a 10-foot pole. They used to be good, but ever since they went public about 5 years ago they’ve gone totally down the toilet and I can testify firsthand how horrible they are now.
