"Ugh..." Malik says, scraping the leftover rat off from the bottom of his boots. "All this for one man? Is it too late to drop out?"
He's already regretting his decision.

The super-rocker’s popularity had been slowly dropping over the course of a few years, and the lessening of his popularity alone made him feel in a sour mood. He needed to do something, anything, to regain back his fame and the public’s general interest. His first thought was to collaborate, but with whom? There hardly was any talent here, and those who had worked with him ceased after they wanted out of his offers (his prima donna tendencies made it hard for others to leave in fear of angering him). In short, Mok was seen as an egotistical jerk most of the time. However, the opportunity for collaboration arose when one of his henchmen came in the room with a green flyer. Snatching the flyer from the large minion’s hand, hooded dark eyes skimmed over it briefly. Maestro Forte? What an intriguing name; he’s never heard of this composer in his life. Maybe they were starting anew, especially with this upcoming performance. With a groan and a roll of his eyes, Mok carelessly threw the flyer to the side. He’s seen lots of talent, who said that they would be any better? He glanced over to the paper that was on the ground now, lips pursing into a hesitant frown. It wouldn’t hurt for him to at least see for himself. And if they weren’t worth it, Mok could always leave the building.
So he had decided to see what the fuss was about with the newcomer. Dusk had fell upon the city of Ohmtown, a sleazy club named Mylar’s filling up due to newfound interest. Who was the fresh meat, and what kind of music would they be playing? Mok arrived discretely, slipping in like a shadow and seated in the back. Another burly henchman (specifically the one with the scar on his face) had been seated nearby, shoulders tense and eyes alert in case any unwarranted company was to approach Mok. His eyes watched up front with intent, seeing a surprisingly large piano already in place for the maestro and a light green spotlight cast over it. Crossing a dainty leg over the other, the rocker waited in patience for the show to start, a long cigarette burning in the cigarette holder he had in his left hand. They better not disappoint him.
