My pose is “Owed to Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School”, but I’d like to thank all of those who supported and believed in me as I made my journey toward attaining my Masters Degree in Sports and Exercise Science from AMU. In 2016 I began my journey toward my Masters. Between running my business, coaching my children and teaching at Bergen Community College, I managed to attain my graduate degree. On top of that, my 4.0 and additional academic achievements earned me being selected as the speaker for the Graduate Commencement addressing a crowd of over 5000 people on May 11 at the National Harbor outside DC. Wish me well and thank you for the support! #nevertooold #never2old #masterphil (at Mahwah, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwceYUsAuWo/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1qdnnh2fdmfzp

My name is Meli Navas, I am 5 years old and I live in Buenos Aires with my mom and my dad.
My dad smells like coffee because he loves coffee. But I don’t like coffee, so I don’t smell like it. I smell like books because I read a lot.
My mom likes sushi, but I think she is confused because she doesn’t smell like it. Maybe what she really likes is the places that sell sushi. Maybe she doesn’t know that you can like places too.
Just like I like this bookstore. I love it because it is secretly connected to a coffee shop and because it smells like me and my dad hugging. 50% coffee. 50% books.
Another place I like is this giant juke box. I know it’s ugly but I love it because it sounds like my grandma Lucia with a man voice. Maybe she changed it. I think that when you are a ghost you can do that and you can get into a house without being invited and takeover a swing at the playground without having to share it with your ghost friends. But what you can’t do is being alive. And that is not so cool. Because then you can’t feel places like this one. I love it because when the wind blows here all the leaves fall and I feel I’m inside of a snow globe. Like the one on my therapist´s desk. I think it’s from Italy. I have never felt that place, because I have never been on a trip before. But my mom says that one day I will travel around the world and that is why I have to pay more attention in my geography class.
The End.
Dedicated to the kid who was born inside of me, when I moved to Buenos Aires 5 years ago.
