May I add to this, as this is vitally important.
To be absolutely crystal clear: I have only very recently been made a mod. (like, 2 weeks ago, i think) I am stating this as I've been accused of hiding that fact, when this account has always been a NM account.
I was an ordinary server member when the incident occurred, i was also on vacation, so had the luxury of being able to read all of it in one continuous thread, with no skin in the game. This is what I saw:
Red did not allow Crimson back into the server. That was a mod team's mistake coming from a place of bad intel coming from an source to who had proceeded to show themselves as untrustworthy in the interim of Crimson's first ban.
Multiple server members asked to see undoctored evidence. This was quibbled over back and forth by the source. Multiple community members called for calm, this was ignored.
When unedited evidence was eventually provided after Crimson was given a probation period, Crimson was swiftly and immediately banned.
Crimson was never a mod. And was never ever anywhere near being considered a mod.
At the time, there were 3 mods for a server of 6k people. One mod was asleep when the incident occurred. Another mod was busy with IRL stuff, leaving one mod available to try handle a snowball by themselves. (this has now been rectified so it can never happen again, by expanding the mod team. All the new mods are trusted members of the community, who were suggested by other members of the community. None of them are groomers.)
I now know that Red was begged by one of the OG mod team to step in as they genuinely believed people would listen to Red. Red, did not think this was a good idea.
I have never witnessed any grooming in the server.
The Nevercord server has always had a strict NSFW policy.
All the Crimson stuff happened in side servers, the servers where the minors were harmed, and private dms. Servers and dms Nevercord had no idea about until after the fact.
The owners of those servers are responsible for what happens in their servers and protecting their members, if they could not do that, they had no right running a server.
As far as I can tell, the owners of those servers have not been held responsible in anyway. It has all been thrown solely at Red's feet.
Yes, mistakes were made, by multiple people, (the owners of the outside servers, the OG mod team being so small for such a large and ever growing server, choice words said in the heat of an 8 hour long 100p v 1p dogpile.) but is not right, nor is it fair to make one person responsible for things that A) Aren't her fault. B) A shitshow that had many moving parts, involving multiple people.
Here's to looking forward to the premiere of season two, even if its a little later than expected.
