When others question who we are, when they try to tells us they no better than us who we are. The response is to either internally or externally loudly protest the unjust words. There is a reason the AIDS Activist group group ACT-UP used the slogan Silence=Death. If we remain silent while thousands and thousands die then we are as complicit in untimely deaths of gay and bisexual men, trans women and injection drug users as was the government in Washington during the eighties and early nineties. Now if we remain silent when some in the current administration try and take away the rights of trans and non-binary individuals, Central American Refugees and Migrants, People with different beliefs, assault survivors and others than we are quietly siding with an unjust Administration. So don’t be afraid to speak out as it’s the only way things change.
