Tess was driving home, the pouring rain making the feat quite difficult. Her car, however, decided it didn't care one bit about that, and decided it was the right moment to leave her. The engine rattled and abruptly died, apparently out of nowhere and Tess barely had time to pull over before it stopped moving. It took a few minutes before he saw the distant lights of another car, so she got out of her Mustang and waved her arm at the approaching car. When it stopped, she ran to the passenger window, covering herself with her purse. “Could you give me a ride, please? My car just died on me.”
