Stella Hackney I’m sure this is going to get me booted and de-friended…. But y'all brought it to my wall, so here it goes: Okay... So I am kinda new to the private adoption stuff. My primary exposure to private adoption was in group homes as a teen and 1/4 of the girls were from private adoption (all dumped on the system and all looking for their Mothers). We also have a few in my own family, in prior generations, lost to adoption. So I've always been pretty turned off at the whole idea of adoption. Foster Care... I know that RCW 13.34's backwards and forwards for my state. You want to talk ASFA, Title IV-E & B? I can rattle of facts and figures and go into racial disproportionality like the heavy hitters. ICWA in foster care I can tell you about that too…There is a kinship between Foster Care adoption and Private Adoption. So the whole Bring Camden Home thing touches me in the context of Foster Care. Why is he still in foster care? Carri comes from an affluent background, she has family, she has friends… Why has no one she knows filed an intervening motion to adopt? Yes, I know the Agency isn’t going to consent, but a court isn’t going to turn away a fit affluent PAP in favor of foster care just on the whim of the agency. That’s why I am asking about an intervening motion. Even if the agency could wield that power, why hasn’t anyone at least tried? The agency would still be there to sue and he’d be out of foster care. At what point are y’all going to go after Camden and not the agency? At that point, I’m all in and you have my undivided attention (as soon as I get back from vacation of course).
