@neverlists liked for a season 3 starter.

the  store  smelled  of  cinnamon  candles  and  acrylic  paint .  belly  moved  ahead  of  him ,  her  fingers  trailing  over  spools  of  ribbon  and  shelves  stacked  with  glass  jars .  conrad  followed ,  a  half  step  behind ,  watching  the  way  her  hair  shifted  when  she  tilted  her  head  to  study  something  ordinary .  like  it  was  important .  

he  let  himself  forget .  for  a  moment .  he  tucked  away  the  sharp  truth  that  every  bundle  of  flowers  she  lifted  were  meant  for  a  wedding  that  didn’t  involve  him .  instead ,  he  just  watched  her — belly .  with  her  furrowed  brow  and  the  way  she  worried  her  lip  when  she  couldn’t  decide  between  two  shades  of  ivory .  it  was  almost  funny ;  how  she  could  look  at  a  thousand  colors  and  only  see  the  difference  that  mattered  to  her .  a  smile  tugged  at  his  mouth ,  and  he  stepped  closer  before  he  could  stop  himself .  he  teased  lightly ,  nodding  toward  the  bouquets  in  her  hand ,  ❝ too  bright .  you’ll  blind  half  the  guests  when  the  flash  hits  it . ❞

( he  wanted  to  hold  onto  this ,  to  let  it  be  simple .  not  the  thousand  ways  they’d  broken  each  other )

conrad  reached  past  her  to  grab  a  bundle  she  hadn’t  noticed ,  holding  it  up  between  them .  ❝ this  one’s  better , ❞  he  said .  ❝ it’s  quieter .  more  you . ❞
