omg, okay, here goes *cracks knuckles* humanity damaged earth in a nuclear war 97 years ago, and all that's left is the Ark, a conglomeration of space stations with the last of mankind. their resources are running out, so they send 100 juvenile delinquents, expendables, back to earth to see if it's inhabitable again. these are "the 100," our window into this post-apocalyptic world.
the first few episodes are pretty predictable... kids squabbling, fighting, flirting, ecstatic that they don't have to play by adult rules. but very quickly, the show becomes very morally complex and explores these issues like mob justice, class divides, the ethics of torture, what humans do to each other to survive. it has possibly the most kickass female characters I've seen in a long long time.
That sounds super intense and complex and well rounded holy crap. DEFINITELY IN MY WATCH LIST NOW, Now all I have to do is find the time to lounge about and watch some apocalyptic destruction take place OTL
