Thinking about how wunsoc is literally LEGALLY above the law and can just decide for themselves if someone deserves punishment or not. If someone commits a crime it’s the Stealth’s job to deal with it, the Stink are literally not allowed to intervene

Like, the Stink not being allowed to intervene if Mildmay suddenly shows up alive, because he’s a Wunsoc member

Imagine someone being a mass murderer BUT they’re a Wun and a very valuable one at that, so when the Stealth catches them they just like,, get told “hey don’t do that anymore and we’ll be watching you but comtinue your great work with containing monsters, we need you for that”

Squall who’s teeechnically still a Wun, it’s probably the containment department and the Stealth who works with keeping him out of Nevermoor

Just the fact that a Wunsoc member turned criminal might just,, not suffer consequences

Probably a big advantage to Arch though, he can exercise his knack without risking being apprehended for theft by the Stink, but also, what if he actually got dragged into a heist once and didn’t return stuff, if Wunsoc sees him as valuable enough they could theoretically just decide to not give him any consequences

The corruption,,,,,,,,, it’s so scary, I’m so curious and scared of the potential consequences of Wunsoc deciding to just not do anything about potentially dangerous people

here are a few headcanons

when hawthorne is sad he’ll go sit with the dragons at his training arena. they comfort him more than people ever could

thaddea has like five brothers or something who are all quite a bit older than her (think more than ten years) and they all love thaddea so much she is everything to them. also they taught her how to fight because she needs to protect her self

francis was bullied all his life by his classmates and his family, so the first few times unit 919 samples his food and they say its good he thinks they’re making fun of him and doesn’t believe them. eventually he trusts that they actually like his food and aren’t just saying that to say no then right after

cadence is good at painting

jupiter is ace

martha is the kind of person works more when she’s anxious and then overworks herself and physically cannot keep working and then has multiple panic attacks because she thinks she’s letting everyone down

corvus killed morrigan’s mum when she gave birth on eventide but covered it up with saying she died in child birth

I’d like to point out something about Maud though!! When Morrigan met her on the Gossamer, she was surprised that Maud couldn’t just pull strings and lend out a cure to the Hollowpox. Maud tenses up at the phrase “the most powerful person in Wintersea”, but relaxes when Morrigan adds “because you’re the president”.

Either this means that Squall is the most powerful but he is under the control of Wintersea, OR there is another person or entity that is even MORE powerful again.

There has been lots of hints at an upcoming war so I’m kinda terrified (the pod with the Hollowpox “virus”, Squall talking about that Wintersea wants to take the Free State as well, energy shortages because Wunder is possibly being redirected elsewhere?? Etc)

Important Nevermoor Observation

Did you ever stop and really think about Morrigan's first birthday gift, the brolly from Jupiter? At first it seemed really touching and personal, and then it seemed like, Oh yeah, well, everybody's gotta have one, so maybe it's not that special after all.

But if you think about it, Jupiter had to have got it custom made for her. And that was before he ever even interacted with her. Sure, we find out later that he'd been observing her from a distance for a while to understand the details of her abilities and her safety, but they didn't really even know each other yet. The amount of attention to personal detail and the heartwarming sweetness is everything. I mean, obviously Jupiter likes color, so he could have given her one in any shade of the rainbow, but no. He knew she would like black. They hadn't even exchanged one word ever and he knew she'd like black.

And where nobody in Morrigan's family ever treated her as an individual, Jupiter got her gift all special customized with the crow detail on the handle and everything. I'm crying. 😢🥰

No, but why did Morrigan never get presents from St. Nick before she came to Nevermoor? If he's magic, he can reach everyone's homes in one night. Is St. Nick not allowed to deliver gifts to cursed children?? Is he kept out of the Republic somehow?? Real questions.
