They say when one door closes another opens and that’s true. Since the people who needed to know now know. I moved to California almost a week ago. I left on good terms, and am ready for a new beginning. I did not run away from my problems but decided to pick up the broken pieces and fight the battle on a new playing field. At this time in my life I needed to do something for me to be happy for the first time in a long time. I will never forget where I came from and will proudly stay grounded on my West Virginia roots, bit it was time for me to spread my wings. As the sun sets on this California evening I am reminded that it will rise again. I will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes. Taken 5 minutes before turning on the election.... I'm not just sad, I'm hurt. I'm fucking hurt that THIS much of America feels so strongly for heteronormativity and against anything outside of the norm. I AM outside of the 'norm', most of us are.....
