She didn’t know what type of wood this was. It was one of the reasons she was fascinated by it the moment she saw it. She didn’t know where the wood is from, except the direction. A long way towards the East. Never had she seen wood this color before, or this texture. To be honest she wasn’t sure if it was the best for a bow, but it was exotic.
She carefully etched shapes into the bow. Her bow. She wasn’t sure how she obtained it, but it was hers now. She originally saw the bow being carried by the sister woman. A woman that called her sister and claimed kinship, though she knew all of her kin were ghosts. The bow was spellbinding though, she was caught by the exoticness of the wood.
Then the strange man showed up. He tried to give her money which was highly suspicious. She didn’t know what his play was, but she wasn’t about to trust him, even if he was telling her the sister woman couldn’t be trusting. Then the horned lady showed up and talked about a country somewhere a long way east.
Really the whole thing was confusing to her, and made her anxious so she escaped while she could. She was busy working on her bags in an ally close to home when the bow suddenly appeared behind her. She probably should give it back but… finders keepers, losers weepers.
So now she made her hers. She embedded feathers into the bow, carved shapes into it, then at the very edge of the bow she carved “Xe” and a picture of a courel. She smiled at her work when it was done. Hers. Lithi wasn’t going to take this one away.
She stretched it out, testing its strength. She can kill more than just marmots with this. Maybe even go after the prey she has been eyeing in the animal encyclopedia. Drakes.
She was learning to read and write.
Soon she’ll go on adventurers.
Soon she’ll see the world.
Soon she’ll live instead of just survive.
All was needed now was to find a party. A group of adventurers in need of a bowswoman. While she’s at it, she better improve her armor a bit too. Maybe get a mask to hide the youth of her face.
