It’s been nearly a year now since Essex based songwriter and producer October Glow intoxicated me with spellbinding and lavish, atmospheric and unique indie electronica dbut, Cellar Door. It may have been a long wait for a second taste from the solo artist, but second single New Casio is just as bewitching, with its murky dreaminess and intricate pairing of delicate vocals and fathomless electronic production, easily drawing comparison to the likes of Gold Panda, Four Tet, and Burial, with a bit more wistful pop flavor. October Glow, or Joe Thomas, delivers a spellbinding world of fluid, swelling sound described as “4am post club haze”, and it no doubt takes me back to those early mornings when half the world is slumbering away while my weighted thoughts flit between the dark corners of my mind.
