Saved $160 on labor with this plumber…
I’m all handy and shit
I replaced my kitchen faucet! I’ve never done that before! I have helped put a roof on, I can change a flat tire and brakes, I know how to change the oil in a car, and I have built bookshelves. But I’ve never done anything remotely associated with plumbing.
My kitchen faucet started dripping. Then it was a trickle and I was the only one that could get it to stop. Then I couldn’t and the trickle became worse. Eventually, it just wouldn’t turn off at all. I was just going to get the parts for $12 and fix it. But I got annoyed. Then, after a couple days, I HATED THAT FAUCET! It was evil and out to get me. So, I went and got a new one. After work last night, I started taking the old one apart. Then I took a three hour break. Now, at 5:00 in the morning, I have a new, beautiful, WORKING faucet!!! I am so proud of myself!
Seriously. My hands hurt, I’m shaking from tightening those damn nuts, and I think a spider bit me, but I feel so damn accomplished!
Kitchen Update: New Faucet
A quick kitchen update and new faucet.
Since I purchased my home, one of the most frustrating things has been the faucet in my kitchen. I don’t have a great before picture, but you can kind of see it in the before photo in my dishwasher post. Basically it was old, had difficult to remove calcium deposits, a missing spray button, and the handle would fall off if it wasn’t turned on from the correct angle.
So, the last time my brother…
