Listen/purchase: Savage Gospel / Vanhala by Savage Gospel / Vanhala
i hadn’t heard savage gospel yet, but this definitely rips… white heat /// white noise.. hits like a finnish LHD… slamming a sheet of hard ice with your face at like 15 mph and grinding along it until you hit a wall (i've done it, it hurts)
Amplified Humans Festival 2016
New Forces
2018
Amplified Humans Festival 2016.
Here is the trailer. I watched the two DVD set over the last few days and it is inspiring and wonderful. The performances are varied and exciting and the sound quality is top notch. If there is one thing the really bugs me about the noise world is this vagueness or false mystery. Video is often layered with filters, album covers are super sparse in an amateur effort at artistry. It reminds me of a mumbling kid with low self-esteem, speak up and be proud of how fucked up you are, be proud of your scars. The old Bones Brigade videos in the 80′s were like this, when you were new to it all, just about the only kid you could identify on the half pipe, in the grainy VHS footage was Tony Hawk, because he was covered from head to toe in pads.
The Amplified Humans Fest DVD had none of this bullshit mystery! The video was clear and title cards identified the performers. We like noise and we are proud of it.
The festival featured performances by: Killer Bug, Kazuma Kubota, Facialmess, Knurl, Kazumoto Endo & Kazuma Kubota, Richard Ramirez, Aaron Dilloway, The Rita, John Wiese, Scalp Elevator, Rodger Stella, Paranoid Time, T.E.F., Plague Mother, Worth, Deterge, Kakerlak, Skin Graft, A Snake In The Garden, Diaphragmatic, Harness, Action/Discipline, Alex York, and Daniel Rizer.
For me, the stand-out performances were by Deterge, Aaron Dilloway and The Rita.
Deterge rammed a mic down his throat letting audience bask in his gagging glory.
Aaron Dilloway stepped away from tape loops and also turned to gobbling on contact mics. His performance was intense and blew the roof of the venue. Super thrilling and inspiring to watch.
The Rita started off slow, looking disinterested, as if he’d rather be swimming with sharks or licking toe cleavage, but the set slowly rose in energy and power. It felt calculating and precise. It’s unclear in the video at first, but The Rita had placed a mic in a basin of water as a sound source. It reads like the noise starts with The Rita chilling in the audience. After a few minutes, The Rita dawns a mask and snorkel and takes the facial plunge into the basin. The set was intense and exciting.
The DVD is over five hours and limited to 300 copies, so break out your credit card or look up your PayPal password because it’s well worth ordering: https://www.skeletondustrecords.com/products/amplified-humans-festival-dvd
