Airbnb hosting in Ireland, new rules.

Hi,

Are there any other Irish hosts getting letters from revenue. I've been hosting in Ireland for about 3 years, but with these new rules in rent pressure zones, the government is trying to make Airbnb illegal.

I'm concerned if I continue to host I could be reported to Dublin city council and liable for a fine, or worse prison time.

Are there any other Irish hosts concerned about this issue?

I've rang Airbnb a few times to get some answers about the new rules but the rep didn't seem to know anything.

in light of my last post, new shopping ban rules

no more McDonalds, no more KFC. it’s not good for you. 

by January 2019, I will no longer consume fizzy drinks. 

no more purchases of things I could make myself or buy at charity shop, including cleaning products. 

no more purchases of sanitary products. I have a menstrual cup and period panties I never use! 

reduce, reduce reduce. 

cut down on paper waste and plastic intake

start using a reusable cup for drinks and purchase reusable cutlery (a new exception)

reduce meat except for one meal cooked a week

no more red meat

veggies and fruits to come from farmers markets (walk, bike or take the bus!) and hopefully meat too. if poss, shop at these as much I can in 2019. 

digitise all textbooks, regular books etc. use Libby and Overdrive as well as Libgen.io. Do not buy textbooks for 2019 unless absolutely needed.
