Hi anon! I’m doing very well. Now that Triles have graduated, I’ve migrated back to my other fandom, which is a fandom within a fandom. In Sept 1999 a 13-year-old girl started a CardCaptor Sakura sequel fic called ‘The New Trials of Cardcaptor Sakura, Syoaran and Friends’ and 18 years later it’s still continuing and will soon reach the 2 million words mark. I’m re-reading the fic (which I haven’t done since 2007) and blogging about it on Blogger.
I’ve actually stopped writing fics since DNC Season 2 ended and finished my TrilesFanfic100 project. I haven’t looked back ever since. Thanks for being a fan! The Degrassi fandom has been out of sorts with this ridiculous hiatuses so it’s sweet to know that someone is still thinking of me.

“Umm… Syaoran? Actually, there was something I wanted to say to you also,” Sakura said. From her bag, she drew out a rectangular package, wrapped in green and white striped paper. “I’m sorry. This is nothing much, but I just wanted to express my gratitude for all that you’ve done for me the past few months while I stayed at your house. I’m kind of broke, so I couldn’t get you anything more fancy. But I’ll buy you dinner next time.”
Carefully, Syaoran opened the box. In it were two mugs, one a pale green and one a rose pink. Each had a teddy bear on the face of the mug. He hid a grin. How Sakura-like.
Laughing sheepishly, Sakura said, “I guess that’s something more of what I would buy myself. But then the teddy bears were so cute. The real reason I bought mugs is remember how your favorite green mug disappeared?”
“Yeah?” Syaoran raised an eyebrow.
“Actually, I broke it last time when I was washing the dishes. And I threw away the broken pieces before you saw it, because I was afraid that you’d get mad at me. Sorry!” Sakura bent down her head in repentance.
“I always wondered where that mug disappeared to,” Syaoran said, fingering the teddy bear on the green mug. Then he touched the pink mug. “There are two mugs. You only broke one.”
“Ah, well, they came in a set,” Sakura explained hastily.
Grinning, Syaoran said, “But I only need one mug. I guess the other one is for my guest.”
“Oh, Meilin or Kai can use it,” Sakura said quickly.
Carefully setting the mugs back in the box and putting it in his bag, Syaoran said, “Nope, I’m going to reserve it for an especially guest only.”
“Really?” Sakura said, already knowing who but wanting to hear it from Syaoran’s own lips. “Who?”
“You’ll see,” Syaoran replied, heading towards the counter to pay the bills.

August 4, 2018 - Blessings and Silver Linings
You know how, in times of stress, the enemy creeps in and whispers the worst ideas into your ears? He plays on your worst fears and attacks because your guard is down. You're worried, stressed, and your attention is divided and not focused on Jesus.
This week has been like that for us. It's been a very stressful, emotional blur and I keep having to remind myself that God is bigger than ANY trial we might face. He will strengthen our family to meet our new challenges dependent upon Him to protect us and defend us against the enemy's lies and stupid tricks. But this Momma has heard those ugly whispers this week, and my focus has been divided so that I have to remind myself a dozen times a day of God's faithfulness.
Scripture tells us to consider facing trials pure joy because they produce perseverance and strengthen our faith (see James 1). It also tells us that we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37) and that nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38-39).
And this verse brought tears to Momma's eyes: "One of you routs a thousand, because the LORD your God fights for you, just as he promised" (Joshua 23:10).
God is faithful to fight our battles so we, through the power of the Holy Spirit, can overcome the enemy. Satan cannot prosper where the Holy Spirit dwells. We have the power to stand against any adversity and emerge victorious. "We do not fight for victory; we fight FROM victory!" (- Priscilla Shirer). The victory that Jesus won for us on the Cross.
I would ask you all to stand in prayer for our family as we face yet another trial - this one a challenge that is also a tremendous blessing to us. But we need prayer warriors to lift us up as we prepare to overcome a new challenge.
Please pray with us, and send Momma your prayer requests. We believe in the power of prayer, and I believe that it works better if it's mutual.

DETROIT | Boyhood memory leads to new trials in Detroit murder case
DETROIT— The boyhood memory of a Detroit man who witnessed his mother’s murder at age 8 is leading to new trials for two people who claim they were wrongly convicted in the 1999 Mother’s Day slaying.
Charmous Skinner Jr., now is in his late 20s, was never interviewed by police or defense attorneys, despite being in the van with his mother when she was shot.
The Michigan Supreme Court said Skinner’s recollection of the shooter — mid-30s, big nose, short hair — is vastly different from the description offered by others at trial. Justly Johnson and Kendrick Scott are serving life sentences and have been in prison for more than 18 years.
The “convictions were based on shaky grounds,” the court said Monday in a 4-1 decision. “Consequently, when Skinner’s testimony is considered in conjunction with the other evidence presented at the original trials, we find that a different result is reasonably probable on retrial.”
New trial dates have not been scheduled.
Johnson and Scott were convicted mostly on the testimony of two people who were under the influence of alcohol and drugs on the night of the killing. They later recanted, according to the University of Michigan law school’s Innocence Clinic.
Scott Lewis, now a private investigator, began investigating the case for Johnson when he was a WXYZ-TV reporter in 2009. He interviewed Skinner in 2011, and that prompted efforts to reopen the case.
After listening to Skinner, a Wayne County judge had rejected a request for new trials, saying the boy probably was asleep in the van and that his testimony was “almost impossible to believe.”
But Michigan’s highest court said Judge James Callahan made the wrong call.
“When considering Skinner’s testimony in its entirety, it is clear that his testimony is not wholly incredible,” said Justice Richard Bernstein, writing for the majority.
In dissent, Justice Brian Zahra said the court should have given more deference to Callahan’s conclusions.
The new evidence, he said, is “implausible.
