The Outsidaz outta Brick City was most known for the eminem affiliation and maybe if u watched rap city around 99 u prolly remember seein the rah rah and prolly heard I Declare War by Pacewon at some point or at least heard the beat in battles/radio freestyles from around that time. The Nite Life EP was a favorite when it dropped and I became a lifelong fan when they were opener on the Method Man/Redman Blackout tour and Ghost/Cap were doin Supreme Clientele tour at the same time and DC was lucky enough to have both tours coincide for that show and combined to be one of the best rap shows I ever went to. Outz held their own and I still remember their set just as vividly as the rest of the night. In fact after the concert several people walkin out the venue mentioned how live the opener was and askin who it wast. One of the best things about that show was that the Outz threw out these promo grab bags that had a promo CD, poster, some postcards n sticker or some shit and then this EPK (Electronic Press Kit) VHS. This used to be common practice for opening acts to do at rap shows seein as internet promo wasnt really a viable option back then. What I think made that shit so memorable to me though above a lot of other promo materials I caught in the air from other struggle rap openers was 1) I was already a fan and 2) The VHS mini documentary was made out of fuckin styrofoam. Like dead ass it was the lil white plastic wheels with like maybe 2 feet of tape at most rolled up since it was a short ass video and a paperboard album cover print elmer glued onto a styrofoam body. not that hard black plastic you used to seein VHS with, styrofoam! This shit fell the fuck apart over the years of course and not to mention it was so cheaply constructed it got stuck in the VCR well over a dozen times from tryin to play it for the homies and put em on since it gave a nice overview and it wasnt like u had utube links back then so every bit of rap footage u had on tape was cherished and rewatched til u got sick of it or lost it. Nevertheless I never really forgot about it and every now n then I checked on youtube to see if anybody uploaded it. For years I could never find it and sometime recently I did a google search instead of youtube search and finally lucked out. Somebody had did a list of rap epk's for a blog post and included it. Turns out it was on vimeo for years with no proper video title and no easy way to find it in a search so big ups to this blogger for uncovering it somehow. I prolly built this the fuck up but I never feel compelled to post on here anymore so fuck it
