New Beginnings

Eight months, it was dredging months for me. When each day was draining there was nowhere to run. Amid the darkness, I did not expect somebody to carry through light.

Started with a simple conversation online, and later on we became friends and started to make me laugh and smile every day. I did not expect to smile and laugh genuinely after the trauma that I had gone through.

Smiling and laughing was not my story. A new beginning with somebody was not in the plan because I knew how dreadful I went through. Now that you are here, thank you for finding me and beside me no matter what life brings and the distance it brings.

Helmerich & Payne Announces Agreement to Acquire KCA Deutag

TULSA, Okla. & ABERDEEN, Scotland--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Helmerich & Payne, Inc. (NYSE: HP) (“H&P” or the “Company”) and KCA Deutag International Limited (“KCA Deutag”) today announced a definitive agreement under which H&P will acquire KCA Deutag for $1.9725 billion in cash.

KCA Deutag is a diverse global drilling company. The company has a significant land drilling presence in the Middle East, which represents approximately two-thirds of the company’s calendar year 2023 Operating EBITDA, with additional operations in South America, Europe and Africa. In addition to its land operations, KCA Deutag has asset-light offshore management contract operations in the North Sea, Angola, Azerbaijan and Canada, with super major customers and long-term earnings visibility through a robust backlog. KCA Deutag’s Kenera segment comprises manufacturing and engineering businesses, including Bentec, with three facilities serving the energy industry, representing a longer-term growth opportunity.

HELMERICH & PAYNE INKS DEAL WITH SAUDI ARAMCO

Helmerich & Payne, Inc. and Aramco made a recent seven-rig deal official at a signing ceremony last month. The H&P team was honored to join Aramco Upstream President Naser Al-Naimi in this momentous occasion.

“We are extremely pleased to be working with Saudi Aramco and supporting their unconventional gas drilling campaign,” noted John Lindsay, president and CEO of Helmerich & Payne, Inc. “The success of this venture is a testament to the unwavering teamwork and innovative spirit of our employees. Their collective efforts, fueled by a commitment to excellence, have propelled our company forward and I could not be more proud.”

Seven super-spec rigs were each awarded five-year contracts with one-year options and follow the one-rig award announced in August 2023 – for a total of eight rigs going to work in Saudi. Most of these rigs are expected to commence operations during the fourth quarter of this calendar year. The rigs will be sourced from our idle FlexRigs® super-spec fleet in the U.S. and converted to walking configurations.

I wish I was sleeping right now

I'm having a hard time sleeping. My nose is running so I decided to take some cold medicine; thinking that the drowsiness effect would help me knock out (nope). I've been youtubing a lot lately (I know, so lame). Tried studying and looking for jobs but that got tiring; plus I wasn't really up for it since my nose was bothering me. I was watching a Korean drama but the storyline was the same'ol love story about a guy and a girl falling in love and some close friend getting jealous, blah blah. Anyways, my day off was today (more like yesterday now that it's almost 3) and I went to pearls and ran some errands for my mother. A lot of changes are happening around me. Especially for my family (which is good). I pray that everything goes well for them and for me too. To new beginnings! It's my last week working on nights. I'm kinda happy because I wanted my body to go back to its normal sleeping routine. I have to train myself to wake up early again. I wish I could take a trip somewhere right now. I really want to go to Disneyland. Happiest place on earth right? Soon, one day. Okay I'm gonna try and close my eyes and dream about that place (while watching the fireworks and eating a turkey leg. Lol)
