Comment: Gwaine and Merlin are the cutest in this and I love how much they love each other. This was an amazing fic with as much fluffy domesticity as angst and action.
...so maybe reccing a 90K word fic for newbie week is too much, buuuuuut Neb has only been writing for a year, so it definitely can come in newbie week. I’d definitely say to read the rest of her fics if you want something shorter but also great!

The knights are going to have a lot of questions if they live through this.
Ok any fic inspired by Would I Lie To You rocks, but this also manages to go in genuinely unexpected areas regarding Merlin’s past and has lovely characterisations all round

Next time Merlin said he needed to be elsewhere, Arthur vowed to listen to him. If he had, maybe there wouldn't be a foreign king with five broken fingers and a broken wrist in the council chambers.
