Hey, cuties, so I thought I'd put together a list of things that help me calm down anxiety a little and might be useful to others. This isn't by any means supposed to be a "cure"--just little things that I find help ease anxiety. It's still quite a small list, so please feel free to add stuff! : )
Ideas for calming down/dealing with anxiety:
snuggle with your pet or (if you don't have a pet) stuffed animals
reread a favorite book from childhood
listen to calming music
talk to someone who puts you at ease
put on a pretty lipstick color
change into clothes that make you feel cute/comfy
sing a favorite, loud song at the top of your lungs
take a shower or bath
wash your face (also, try gently massaging your face and neck with a little olive oil--it is heaven)
watch reruns of cartoons of sitcoms
NETFLIX
go outside for a walk (if you don't want to say hi to people, there's no shame in wearing earbuds even without music)
make yourself some herbal tea or hot chocolate
put on some warm, fuzzy socks and squishy pajamas
do a face mask (honey masks are thebomb.com)
impromptu dance party for one
organize or clean (don't do this if it stresses you out, but for me cleaning the bathroom is one of the most calming things I can do)
take a trip to the bookstore or library
send a cute message to a friend, or even to someone on anon
make a smoothie. There is something incredibly satisfying about crunching up ice in a blender.
do your hair or makeup really crazy
get yourself some fancy-ass pencils and a nice coloring book and color to your heart's content
run or cycle, if that's something you fancy
watch YouTube videos (beauty tutorials are my favorite for taming anxiety a bit)
light some candles and plug in fairy lights
remember that even though anxiety is terrible, you are not. You are a gorgeous, worthwhile human being and you deserve to take care of yourself.
