Notes, TW for horror themes, eye truama and slight self body mutilation(only in the writing tho):
Cory wears a porcelain camera mask. Theres no actual lense, only thick black glass that kinda looks like one. When he wears the mask the "lense" glows red and develop a pupil that moves around in accordance with where he's looking. The mask itself isn't anomalous tho, its just him.
The reason for said mask is bc in this au Hooper's robo parts are actually from Cory's face. Cory ripped his own camera face off to fuse them into Hooper to save his life after he got injured by rubble from an explosion Cory caused in his pain filled state.
Cory doesn't talk much, mostly he emits emotive sounds. Think little character noises from an unvoiced game, little giggles and sound effects almost. He can speak tho- and his voice is slightly distorted.
Alice was unwittingly recruited as Hooper and Cory's third wheel when she stumbled upon Cory saving Hooper, mistook it for an attack and shot Cory. Cory got pissy and would've killed her but recognized her as the one overseeing is medical treatments and so spared her as a thank you for attempting to save him(he thinks). However as penance he poured the blood from his gunshot wound into her eye. Now everything in that eye is blurry and gray and white and red- and she's "hallucinating", totally hallucinating(she can now see dead people in that eye)
