I usually try to look at the CA's website every day, and I've subscribed to their breaking news alerts via email. But my main source is Twitter, because it's one stop shopping for all the latest from EVERYBODY - CA, the TV stations, the Flyer, the Daily News, the mayor, not to mention regular people, who in this town actually do talk a lot about real news on Twitter, which is kind of awesome. You can create "lists" in Twitter and/or on Tweetdeck - e.g. "Memphis folks," or "Memphis media" (you can find and follow my lists on my profile page...some might not be perfectly updated, though, doh) so that you can just see those when you feel like just local news, or you can just kind of pick it up along with other stuff as you scroll your main feed (I do the latter, but I'm kind of weird that way I think.) CA is hiring a new social media person so maybe their presence might improve. TV actually does it better, especially for breaking news like when that ammo plant was exploding, they were on the scene and had pics and whatnot. I also have "liked" the CA on Facebook so I get their feed there, too. My favorite local blog is I Love Memphis.
