The Tribune Building’s clock tower as seen from The NY Times Building on Park Row. Arguably the first skyscraper, the 260 foot tall Tribune Building was built in 1874 to house the New York Tribune newspaper on NYC’s #NewspaperRow across from City Hall. Designed by Richard Morris Hunt, the skyscraper was demolished in 1966 to make way for Pace University’s #brutalist downtown campus, One Pace Plaza.
