introduction ✨🍇
hi all! i'm v, short for vitis [which is latin for my nickname, grape, in my mother tongue]. i'm a woman in her mid twenties in the process of graduating as a companion animal veterinarian! i thought i'd let you know some things about me:
a few facts:
- i am utterly reliant on my beverages
- i read a lot, mostly romantasy
- i love working out and going on hikes with my dog
- i am structuring my development around the concept of the growth mindset theory by dr. carol s. dweck
- i am a collector of veterinary medicine books, i.e. i keep a long list of all books that i could possibly ever consult if i am in need of more information about a patient, disease or procedure
interests in the veterinary field:
- anatomy!!! I love her so much
- radiology is so fun and an area i want to improve myself in
- teaching and education are passions of mine
- internal medicine is a complex puzzle sparking curiosity every time
- surgery is also something special
- so anything really
- i am also interested in the science and methods behind responsible communication, both between team members and with owners
current goals for this blog and for me in general:
- enjoying my last my clinical rotations
- finishing up my master's thesis
- find an exciting first job as a practising veterinarian and/or lecturer (currently in the running for a position at a clinic and applied for a position at my university)
- enjoy my first months as a newly graduated vet!
- document aspects of my life that i can look back on
- create awesome memories
