Happy Birthday Edward Gorey! Edward St. John Gorey (1925-2000) was an American author and artist, primarily known for his children’s stories and illustrations of children’s books. According to his obituary in the New York Times, Gorey was a fan of ballet—particularly the @nycballet and George Balanchine.
