Matcha Cookie Dough Sandwich Recipe
Cookie dough smashed in between two cookies popped into my mind when I decided to make edible cookie dough version of my cookie recipe to enjoy with friends.
Boy, this recipe hits a sweet spot, and I found myself snacking on the edible cookie dough while the cookies baked. It was tough not to eat it all!
Growing up I loved cookie dough. We do know that it is unsafe to eat it because of the raw eggs it contained. Luckily, I survived.
Recently, cookie dough has been making a big splash, especially in NYC because of new recipes that forgo the raw egg.
This sandwich contains elements. Our signature Matcha Dark Chocolate chip cookies that you can find here and our Matcha edible cookie dough recipe.
I highly recommend using our Culinary Matcha to recreate this recipe as close as possible. Not all Matcha is created equal, and I have tested many different Matcha brands and qualities from. Until I found the one that brings me back home to my Tokyo days.
In this blog, you will see that Matcha and dark chocolate are a big favorite for pairing. They are always paired because dark chocolate is very familiar flavor and helps trying Matcha if you are new to the flavor, easier.
In Japan, the most favorited flavor combination with Matcha red bean. During my time living there and my diet, eating red bean became easier.
However, upon returning to the U.S., I had trouble consuming as much red bean as before. Also, getting my family as well as the little nieces and nephews proved difficult.
Chocolate, I feel, is the easiest way to remedy this fear of Matcha. The pair is intoxicating if done correctly.
I highly recommend you try out this flavor pairing and top it with dark chocolate syrup.
Not too much to mask the flavor, but enough that it brings a smile to your face!
