Knock Knock...

#TrueStory Last night, my partner (Keyz of the NEXMEN) sent me a text. He said "Check the dropbox. It's not finished, but it's a starter." I listened to the track before I went to sleep. I woke up this morning, got my boys ready and took them to school. I played the track in the truck. I listened for about a minute then I recorded a reference melody into my phone. I took my boys into school and came right back out. Had to go to Walmart for a minute. While I'm in Walmart, I'm listening to the track in my headphones - literally performing in the store. I stop listening to jot down some lyrics in my "Note Everything" app - available for free in the Google Play Store.  I get got the register and called Keyz (of the Nexmen : ). I tell him that there have to be some structural changes to the track so it flows better and falls within the 2:45 - 3:30 time constraint. I tell him what they are and he says "No problem. I'll take care of it." I get home, write the first verse, B Section and hook. I go shopping, pickup the boys, fold clothes, give them both haircuts, give them both baths, go into the lab and lay the vocals. I'm in the process of transferring the session from R7 to PT11. My point? Opportunity never listens to excuses.  #WHEELZUP
