Hello Mesa! The incoming calls have slowed down and I finally got some sleep. Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers and contributors that helped my campaign for Mesa City Council District 3 to be a successful one. We knocked on the doors of close to 9000 voters. I can officially retire two pairs of shoes. We won! We did it with people power. There are many, many people to thank and i will be doing that over the next few weeks starting with my wife Ericka Varela-Winkle who was with me every step of the way, my mother Barbara Rae who I consulted almost daily, Vice Mayor Dennis Kavanaugh who was always there with advice and support, and Alison Porter who gave me countless hours of time and knowledge. I will be reaching out personally to all who helped me. Over the next few months I will also be preparing and learning as much as I can before my official swearing in so that I can hit the ground running. Now, let's get to work! I want to thank my opponent Jerry Lewis for running a great campaign. I gained a knowledgable friend and I look forward to relying on him for advice when needed. Congrats to Mark Freeman For District 1 for his win. Great work also to Jeremy Whittaker for Mesa City Council and Shelly Allen for Mesa for moving on to November. Best of luck. #iheartmesa #winkleformesa #mesarising #nextmesa #jimhestermanphotography (at Mesa, Arizona)
