Next Pope
I hope the next Pope will be Luis Antonio or Matteo Zuppi. Why? Because even if you're an atheist, you'd still prefer the Vatican run by someone who doesn't think LGBTQ+ folks are the devil's PR team.
Let’s be honest: any religion is a cult with better PR. But if we’re stuck with cults, at least make sure they don’t drag humanity back to the Middle Ages, burning books and banning women from speaking.
A Pope should represent love, compassion and sanity. Not celibate incels with a fetish for medieval doctrine. And for the record: God loves LGBTQ+ people too, no matter what the closet-case cardinals say.
Also — and this really shouldn’t need saying — the Pope shouldn’t f**k children. Basic requirement. Moral baseline. You’d think it’s obvious. But look at half this candidate list.
So yeah, pick someone modern. Someone who doesn’t treat progress like a sin. Luis Antonio or Matteo Zuppi aren’t perfect, but they don’t want to weaponize guilt, hatred, and repression. That alone puts them light-years ahead.
