this is so true
One day St. Teresa of Avila heard someone say: “If only I had lived at the time of Jesus… If only I had seen Jesus… If only I had talked with Jesus…” To this she responded: “But do we not have in the Eucharist the living, true and real Jesus present before us? Why look for more?”

Signature of Pope Benedict XIV (AD1675b., 1740-1750r.)
Portrait of Benedict XIV with Angels
Allegory in Honor of Pope Benedict XIV
Pompeo Batoni, AD1708-1787
This work of Batoni seems to be either unfinished and was intended to be later mastered as a painting.
From study of such allegory, it seems that angels carry a large medal with a portrait of Benedict XIV, proclaiming the Supremacy of the Papacy to the world, who looks at the portrait in awe and wonder, with the Roman skyline in the background. The female figures looking in awe may also be female personifications of virtuous traits (Sapientia, Providentia, Religio, etc.) that describe Benedict XIV and his papacy. In Batoni's other work presenting Benedict XIV, he is pictured in full pontificals with personifications of Religio and Sapientia, thus providing further evidence that these female figures are used likewise.
Above is a papal tiara presented to Pius IX by Belgium in 1871
The complete inscription (including text on the unseen sides) is:
IESV CHRISTI VICARIO INFALLIBILI
ORBIS SVPREMO IN TERRA RECTORI
REGVM ATQVE POPVLORVM PATRI
which translates to:
To The Infallible Vicar of Jesus Christ
To the Supreme Governor of the World on Earth
To the Father of Nations and Kings
Oh look it’s that tiara that fundamentalists claim is proof that the pope is the Antichrist.
This is because they claim the tiara is inscripted with VICARIVS FILLIVS DEI, which I guess equals 666?
Either way, I like the actual inscription better.
Pontifical Procession through Saint Peter's Basilica during the Festival of Chinea, 18th Cent.
Presumably Clement XI or Benedict XIV are pictured on the sedia gestatoria.

Monuments to the Supreme Pontiff during the "Festa della Chinea" in the 18th Century, Part IV
Some of these appear to have actual permanent bases, perhaps such could have marked a spot where a new church or palace would be built?
