Is Wanda the Nexus Being due to Chaos Magic being the first but also the source of all magic (allowing her to tap into virtually all magical energies) or is it the opposite with her Nexus Being status being the reason why she can tap into Chaos Magic..." Who came first the chicken or the egg" situation ?
Or perhaps i'm just stupid and it's neither.
It is neither a chicken, nor an egg. These aspects of Wanda's power are related, but one did not cause the other, at least, not in the way you're describing.
We know how and why Wanda has the ability to use chaos magic. Chthon gave it to her when she was a baby, in order to prime her as a vessel for his possession. Outside of HoM's thankfully failed attempt to completely steamroll Wanda's continuity, that hasn't changed since the 70s-- but in the late 90s, we learned that Chthon specifically altered Wanda's "mutation" to give her the intrinsic ability to channel chaos magic. So no matter how our understanding of chaos magic might change or expand, the mechanics of how Wanda came by that power are very clear, and I should think that Chthon and the Darkhold's significant role in the current run is proof that Orlando, et al are working with that part of Wanda's history, not against it.
Wanda is a nexus being because of her significance to, and potential impact on, the fabric of reality. This is typically attributed to the nature of her probability-altering powers, which we understand now to be an extension of chaos magic, or to chaos magic itself. But again, it's not that chaos magic makes her a nexus, it's that she's a nexus because of her impact and potential actions.
This idea is reflected on a much larger scale in the current run of Scarlet Witch, in which the Never Queen, an abstract entity who represents possibility, explains that nexi represent freedom and possess the power to disrupt natural order-- in this case, entropy and the pre-destined end of the multiverse. On this page, we can see examples of other nexus beings, including Jean as the Phoenix, Kang, Franklin Richards, Merlin and Odin-- all very different characters with different powers and origins, united only by a shared or similar role in this very, very big-picture cosmological equation.
So that's why Wanda's a nexus, but it doesn't perfectly explain why being a nexus reflexively gives her special abilities. We know that it does-- it's been stated and demonstrated several times, and I don't have any difficulty believing it, but I don't think every nexus being can do exactly what Wanda does, especially not some of the characters shown in this panel. In fact, the only characters whose powers do work almost exactly the same way as Wanda's are Lore and Billy.
If I had to come up with a no-prize explanation, I would say that it's Wanda's magically-altered "mutation"-- the combination of "science and sorcery," which has been cited, previously, as what makes her so unique, and is brought up again in SW&Q-- acting as magical conduit, in tandem with her being a nexus, that makes her a natural magic locus. And as I'm writing that, I realize that it just sounds like a bunch of incomprehensible word salad. I hate when you can't explain a character's powers without breaking down into meaningless postulation like this. None of this crap matters.
wanda is a nexus being, meaning she's the exact same in every universe. you know who else is a nexus being? j. jonah jameson.
the same in every universe we've seen him in so far, at least.
