1 MARAVI
"You are not paying attention.” Neytiri snapped, plucking Näayuä in the forehead.
"You know that I am.” The Na’vi woman insisted, rubbing at her now throbbing head. "I have been training this since I could walk. Eywa knows.” She snatched the offending hand and nipped at it playfully, sharp canines brush feather light against blue skin.
The two women sat in a clearing. The lush greenery breathed new life every second. Blue legs, tangled in driven need for contact.
Neytiri had forced Näayuä into prepping for her Marking, which was the coming of age celebration held for every Tsahìk in training. Her mother, Mo’at currently held the title, but everyone knew that Näayuä was born for the position. She was the most unusual Na’vi, but her connection to Eywa was unmistakable. She trained early, even though she detested the idea of being Tsahìk. She wanted to explore. She wanted to leave the trees and travel the entirety of Pandora. So despite her dreams, she focused on what made her people happy. What they needed and it always filled her with an emptiness that she could never name.
But it was better when Neytiri was there with her. From their youth they were always together, basically raised together as technically Näayuä was never born, not in the way all other Na’vi were. She was found, sitting in a blooming lotus flower. Atokirina surrounded the area, as well as her. Neytiri’s father, Eytukan had found her. He had taken a two year old Neytiri on a mock hunt and stumbled across her. He would always tell Näayuä that Eywa led him to her. She was his just as much as Neytiri was.
Neytiri thought Näayuä was the most beautiful Na’vi she’d laid eyes on and as they got older those feelings only strengthened. They were joined at the hip and if Näayuä was in trouble Neytiri was getting her out of it.
After all, Näayuä was why they were slacking off from their slacking off. They were supposed to be patrolling above all else. The main reason Neytiri’s parents did not want the two scouting together. Näayuä never saw what the big issue was. Neytiri would always end up turning their time together into a tedious study session anyway.
Neytiri ripped her hand free, a scolding scowl drawn on her beautiful feline-like face. "You are unable to take anything serious.” She muttered, hiding her fondness with annoyance.
That earned her a grin, Näayuä’s notable ice white eyes amused. "My Ti, you’re looking at me as if you wish to take me. Maybe we could practise that?” Her voice dropped, hoping to entice her mate.
It seemed to work as purring poured from the lime eyed beauty, plush blue lips suddenly seemed a lot closer to Näayuä’s, she licked her full ones in anticipation.
Breathing each other in, she could feel her being hum in tune with Neytiri’s. A gentle hand cascaded through her sisterlocs before roughly tugging them.
She lightly moaned, head falling back and heavy chest heaving. Their lips brush, sending shudders all the way to their queues.
Neytiri smiled coyly, tickling Näayuä with her whisper. "I think you would enjoy that too much. Come, begin your dance of appreciation to Eywa.” She patted at thick thighs.
Näayuä whined in disappointment, ears flicked back in reluctant submission. The dance was a gift of energy that she would be parting in her ceremony. She didn’t mind, she enjoyed dancing and would often corral Neytiri into dancing with her. Untangling their long legs she stood, wide hips swaying and dipping before rolling. Her hands flew to her thick hair tugging it up sensually. All the while Näayuä kept direct eye contact with Neytiri. This was not the dance she should be performing.
She twirled into the wind, freezing when she picked up the scent of something strange before Neytiri did. Their backs straightened and their tails flicked from side to side. They locked eyes before reaching for their weapons.
Näayuä passed Neytiri a confident smile, meeting for a quick kiss before they split up.
The shade from the trees hid Näayuä well as she laid flat against the oversized limbs and listened. Her ears shifted, on alert for any strangeness. She searched vigilantly for any anomaly, her hands hovering over her daggers. She completely ignored the bow at her back, she wasn’t as good with the bow like Neytiri was. She could move with her daggers, gifts from Tsu’tey, who had helped her train and gave no respite for breaks even when she begged. This was not to say she wasn’t handy with her bow, she was. Every Omatikaya Na’vi had to be. Her teacher being Neytiri was not always a good thing though as the two always got distracted by the other, but she was just above average with what Neytiri had managed to teach her.
She definitely had to adapt. Archers typically had smaller chests.
Näayuä was working with a bigger one.
She also just liked the feel of a dagger more, the tension in her draw back with a bow was unnecessary. Her daggers were sheathed to her thigh straps, easy to access. She could move more fluidly with her daggers. And when she fought she could be up close to her enemy. Which gave her the advantage because even though she was a more curvier opponent she always managed to beat who she went against, with exception to a few Omatikaya.
In usual circumstances the bow was what you grabbed. You needed range, speed, and accuracy if you wanted to survive on Pandora. But Näayuä was never the usual sort.
The tree to her left chirped her way, Neytiri.
She echoed the call, signalling she hadn’t seen the trespasser yet.
Then a sudden noise came below her.
'A Na’vi?' She frowned.
No.
An abomination.
A hybrid body being controlled by a human. Näayuä’s eyes narrowed, her tail swayed in anger, its heavy steps and human clothing an eye sore. It left a bad taste in her mouth, impersonators of her people. These were the same impersonators that pillaged her planet and burned and uprooted her mother.
The arrow was already notched. A quick death to something so adverse and dangerous to her home. The arrow was even laced with poison, she aimed at the seemingly male pretender. Fingers relaxing on the taut bowstring. As she was to release it Eywa appeared, one small 'Atokirina’ landed gently on her arrow. Näayuä faltered, eyes wide in confusion and intrigued.
She lowered her arrow, reaching her hand out for the little sprite to land in her palm. It does, twirling in the air, happy to receive affection from her. The Atokirina’ twirled once more before pushing itself into the air and brushing by her face as it floated back from wherever it came from.
Näayuä exhaled sharply, eyeing Neytiri’s position and her mind pulsing trying to figure out why her Mother had protected such a wretched and vile being. She chirped, calling for Neytiri to fall back and meet back up with her.
She eyed the bumbling male once more and retreated.
Neytiri frowned as she landed on the lush dirt. "You had them in your sight? Why did you not shoot?” She hissed, her exposed canines expressed her irritation.
Näayuä watched her, finding the action beautiful. She raised her hand to cradle Neytiri’s face as she looked up at her. "Eywa has spoken. She sent me a sign, an atokirina’ landed on my arrow.”
Neytiri’s glare lifted, her ears pulled back in her embarrassment. Her mouth twitched as Näayuä giggled, the sound light and melodious.
"We will watch him.” She decided, leaning forward.
Näayuä nodded and eagerly closed their distance.
Indigo lips find each other, the sweet taste of the utumauti fruit from the morning still fresh on their tongues as they exchange it.
Näayuä purred as she pulled away. "Come.” She cooed, licking her lips.
The burning heat in both of their eyes would have to wait.
