DEATH PUNK 390 (Technicolor Fentanihilism)
Digital Mixed Media Animation using Procreate, Photoshop and After Effects. Contribution to the DEATH PUNK collection.
I dedicate this Death Punk to the memory of my mom, who after a lifetime of being trapped in the abuse cycle committed suicide.
It is illuminating live in technicolor the demon of self destruction. Over consumption and self-loathing shrouded in shame throughout generations has lead us to this point in human history. At the core, this demon holds a deep hatred for humanity and wants to see each and every person's ultimate demise.
In reality, it has lurked in the shadows for eons. The demon is a coward, whispering in our ears the words it knows will hurt us and sliding away when we face to confront it which leaves us thinking it was our voice all along. It has no power unless we give it. It's only ability is to trick us through smoke and mirrors at a dog and pony show to believe it has control.
It only wants to hear yes, and lashes out at no.
Don’t listen to it's noise.
Make the noise.
Start a distorted feedback loop until the whole house vibrates.
Channel the primordial chaos we were all birthed from.
Honor it as your mother by howling into the void jubilations but cover your ears before it awakens and whispers back. You are it's child, but it doesn't love you. That is okay, because we have learned to love ourselves.

An animated gif reworked into a looping mp4 with Diskette Park soundtrack. Now up for bidding on Foundation at https://foundation.app/NLITE/-25302 .
I’ve been trying to figure out a way to do dead drop/scavenger hunt NFTs claimable from IRL locations for a while (a year+ at this point), but, just today I realized… Manifold’s claim pages are the perfect way to do that!
So, who’s in???
I’d love to develop a network of artists all around the world who can help to set up and distribute QR codes of free claim links across major cities.
One of the new things I’m doing for commissions is adding an option to upgrade with an Augmented Reality experience. With the help of Verilink, you just scan a chip on the painting or a QR code, step back, and enjoy the magic. This is one of two digital experiences from my latest commission, transforming one piece into the other.
If you like it, help me share the magic 🪄

Illusion Of Success For An Artist - Brad Rushing
Film Courage: What does having A CALIFORNIA CHRISTMAS [movie] reaching number 1 mean to you?
Brad Rushing, Cinematographer: That is an interesting question that I have actually wrestled with because it was absolutely unexpected and I really, really was in shock and I was gratified and I was grateful and I was so happy to be part of that special holiday season for people and I was so happy to hear how much they enjoyed it. I’ve had a lot of success in my life and I’ve always kind of had this illusion that that would be a turning point where I would have this big moment and…(Watch the video interview on Youtube here).
