i guess my gripe was asuka finally having a moment of awesome (!!!!) fighting those evas all by herself and actually defeating them but they just.....came back to life. she’s been treated badly by the narrative in this regard (she tries to fight/prove herself, and ends up getting saved by shinji or rei); maybe to try to teach her a “lesson” bc of her narcissism--i can understand this much--but the one time her will to fight actually comes from something pure, it STILL happens....... my girl :’( my consolation i guess is that (i think) she wasn’t aware of it.
