I apologize for my lack of activity on this blog, school has me extremely busy unfortunately and I barely get time to watch games let alone look at the scores. How is everyone finding the season so far?
Hey, thanks for being so kind and helpful when I asked you a question about hockey the other day! Another one, how is the AHL and NHL linked? Like, I see players being sent and recalled from there. And also, why are draft players so good? Thanks!!
Hello again!
You’re very welcome!
The AHL is the American Hockey League. It has 27 teams in America and 3 in Canada. The AHL is an affiliate for the NHL meaning that each NHL team has an affiliate AHL team (definition of affiliate: "officially attach or connect (a subsidiary group or a person) to an organization."). When a player in a a NHL team is injured, the team needs another player to take place of the injured player who cannot play. Where do they get this player? The NHL team gets it from its specified AHL team. For example, the AHL affiliate team for the Toronto Maple Leafs is the Toronto Marlies. When a player on the Leafs gets injured, the Leafs call up a player from the Marlies to fill the position. When a player is healthy again, that player is "sent down" because there is no room for him on the roster.
Draft players are players who are around 17-18 years of age and they are extremely talented (of course). NHL teams have players who get old and will eventually retire. Teams consistently need more players to fill rosters that the older players used to fill before they retired. The league gets fresh batches of players each year through the draft. The draft is fair way of teams getting to acquire players and the draft prevents one team from having a greater advantage than another. By a lottery system, teams find out when it is their turn to select a player of their choice. This way, teams can replenish the number of players they have, develop younger players to play in the NHL in the future and fill the roster when older players retire.
I hope my response answered your question.
I hope my blog can provide insight to this team and this wonderful sport.

Hey, I've just started to get into I've and support the Leafs and was wondering if you could explain about the Leafs Nation and Tank Nation? :) sorry, bit confused about them!!! Thanks :)
Hey there!
I’m unsure as to what you mean in your first sentence but I’m assuming its along the lines of “i’ve just started to get into hockey”. So welcome! I hope fall in love with the sport just as millions of us have!
Its awesome that you support the Leafs even though they are’t doing so great right now. Leafs Nation is a term that is used to represent the community of Leafs fans. To my knowledge its synonymous to “leafs fans”.
Tank Nation is a new thing thats stated. To say the Toronto Maple Leafs “aren’t doing well” is an understatement. Many Leafs fans want the team to drop down in the standings in hopes of a good draft pick in the upcoming Draft where young players are selected by teams. Tank Nation is a play on words for “Leafs Nation”. To simply put, many Leafs fans want the team to lose so that we may get a nice draft pick and get a very talented player that can help this team out. (Lower in the standings = higher chance at getting a nice draft pick)
I hope my response answered your question.

Was the girl who said her friend kissed sids ip from pitt? Do u believe her?
Hello again,
I believe you are referring to this ask I received some time ago.
I don’t believe anything until there is proof. That goes for everything online and in the real world. I don’t believe eye witness accounts unless the person who is telling me is someone a trust and I know personally. The person who sent that ask was anonymous so I do not know who that person is.
I do not know how to track IP addresses of anonymous messages nor was I aware of such a thing prior to your ask.
Was the ip of that pittschearleder poster talking about sid makig out from pitt?
I apologize for answering this so late, it got lost in all the messages unfortunately.I believe you are referring to this ask I received some time ago.I do not know how to track IP addresses of anonymous messages nor was I aware of such a thing prior to your ask.
