Yeah basically lmao. He wants power, and who’s more powerful than a politician? The irony is that he absolutely fucking hates dealing with other politicians, but they play into his weird little games, so he does it anyway.

In his own very twisted way, Nibral does love Sparrow. Not as much as he loves himself, and not enough to not sacrifice them for his own safety, but he does love them. It’s a twisted, possessive kind of love; Sparrow belongs to him. They aren’t their own person, they’re one of his possessions, and he wants to keep them a happy, somewhat pampered pet.
