Ooookay, this trailer is a lot.

Like a lot a lot, and in a very good way.

I really am going to have to watch it multiple times to wrap my head around the plot.

But it looks expensive, and it seems to very much going deep into social issues.

From what it looks right now, the romance isn't necessarily on the forefront of the story. Mile had already said that he considers Shine much more 'Men's Love' than 'Boy's Love', and I like that a lot. Not in a shitting on BL way, I do love BL, but I like having more mature characters and plots. The BL industry is big, and growing stronger in aspects that haven't been explored that much before is definitely to its benefit.

Plus yes, Mile and Apo do very well in mature roles, so they are incredibly well prepared to take on roles in this kind of show.

I am very much looking forward to Shine, and while it is visible that it's not a show along the usual lines of BL (and that is meant 100% objectively), I can't wait to watch it.

(Also honestly I am very amused by the fact that they seemed to have switched around Mile and Apo very much in terma of who gets to play the stoic part and who gets to be the gremlin.)
