Normally I’m good at checking the dates on fics and I remember you mentioned the jumpsuit in MWBY but I just realized that you wrote it after fine line and walls came out and I know Covid has completely altered my perception of time but that just does not seem right!! I think of that story as classic Larry literature and I can’t believe it’s that recent. I will also now be doing a reread.

I started writing MWBY in August 2019. @disgruntledkittenface and I spent a LOT of time talking through the idea before that though, because I went to her with this idea I had carried around for more than a decade and said that I was worried it was unwritable and Maggie was like well let's figure out how to write it then. We spent Labor Day weekend that year together plotting and literally storyboarding together to work out the timelines.
I just went back and checked my docs and basically, from Chapter Seven through the end was written from March 2020 to June 2020, so I wrote half of the fic through the worst days of the lockdown in New York City, which REALLY, in my opinion, had me waxing nostalgic on NYC, which becomes just as much of a character in the story as the boys are.
Do I think the release of Fine Line and Walls shaped the trajectory of the fic? No and Yes. It felt more like Harry and Louis had peeked into my Google Drive and said, "We see what you're doing, now take it up a couple levels." I feel like as you read you can TELL when songs dropped in a way and Fine Line promo DEFINITELY influenced present day Harry's style. How could it not?
