Yk. There is being an asshole and then there's whatever the fuck Nicholas fucking Fairfax is.

And I love it. I love how Goddamn full of himself he is and how stupidly hypocritical he is. How you can tell he genuinely believes there's some sort of an inherent difference between him and his pets - how goddamn FAR he goes with his horrible shit - like man you really made an EXTREMELY punchable character.

But the thing that I love so much is that he is also just a human, a very stupid human with normal fears that isn't this absolutely unemotional, unbeatable one sided villain - like I'm aware that he will most likely get away with his shit in canon, but all those things that would very much scare him in the pet AU would still affect him in canon and I LOVE THAT.

The fact that this scary nasty man is afraid of guns, that he is mortified of another pet owner and smart enough to not get on his bad side, all the little details that you give for him- both the things that just fit with the image we have of him (and how well you keep him In character even in the pet au where he is in such a different state then he is used to- I'm gonna ramble why I love your stories in general in one of the next asks) , and things that just are so contrasting and yet work so well and make him seem even worse, even tho they're good things by themselves- like the fact he actually cares for his dog - god you have men locked up In your basement, and here you are petting and cooing at your dog- he feels like a real person and that is both scary and also just kinda gives a slight connection to him as a person - just the fact that he is, in the end, A PERSON

But the pet au is the reason I found out bout you and the reason I continued reading your stories even tho they contain some things that squick me out- like this bastard is the reason I fell in love with Wren and Zander and Cain and I just - - I love these stories and these characters so much at this point

And to finish this off- I love every single second where you have made this man suffer or revealed that he would very much so suffer under certain circumstances, he deserves it so much, fuckin amazing, love it. Like he is genuinely perfect whump material for my standards and I just thank you for deciding to make a whole au for it (and I also thank brutal-nemesis for rooting for his ass to get kicked as well, and(I'm pretty sure) leading to that au being created.

No no okay with Nicholas I’ve always worried that he’s. Too cartoon villain levels of evil. Like while he seems at the top and invincible, I haven’t conveyed that he’s not actually invincible but this is really reassuring. Cuz he is supposed to seem like a bbeg kinda guy but he’s still very much so human, and while he may feel he’s the smartest person in the room and completely untouchable, that’s all just a front, he’s not actually invincible and I just. This is thrilling thank you
