y'know, if you pay attention to the timing of the different scenes at the end of ep 23, nice is actually missing a lot of time in between the initial contact with fear and actually dying. at least a day before going to the warehouse (enough time for the story about what happened to go public & ahu to be officially recognized as a hero), then at least one more day after (it was late at night at the warehouse, but sunset on the roof). it's possible there was some x shenaniganry for the latter since there was a snapping sfx and he did appear to basically teleport mid-breakdown, but... that could be just how it felt to him? like tbh i have a hard time rationalizing miss j being on his tail there if he wasn't already with her shortly before he jumped. and there's no real explanation for the former aside from "bro was checked the Fuck out". it looks really continuous unless you pay attention to those details which is very interesting to me--it's like he fully did not even recognize that time was passing. what was he doing during the times we don't see? was he acting more or less normal, but not remembering or internalizing any of it? wandering around in a fugue state? catatonically dissociated? were they trying to keep him somewhere private until he calmed down?
