I was flipping through a copy of Men’s File, the English-language, Japanese-owned fashion magazine, when I ran into a mention of this new video by Dexys, the band formerly known as Dexy’s Midnight Runners. I’ve been kind of on a Dexys jag lately. I got a kick out of reading that the editor of Men’s File, Nick Clements, had actually directed this clip, which features some great 40s styles in addition to a bold rendition of a classic Irish folksong.
